Aurora Aksnes is the name of a Norwegian singer and songwriter from Norway. She was born in Stavanger on June 15th, 1996. Her professional name is Aurora. Her name may also be stylized in the form of AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th of 2015 receiving rave reviews from both music bloggers as well as the media. Half the World Away, by the Oasis group for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy, by Nat King Cole are among the artist's most notable covers. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was when she discovered a piano at her loft, where she was amazed by its sound. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes urged Aurora Aksnes to take up the piano as a passion or a career. So she started with her own music. In addition to Bjork, she cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. When she was told by her mother that her music could aid in her gaining not only fame but also help people see the importance of their music in the world and realize the potential of them, she decided to make a public debut. In the age of 6 she began to learn the piano, and when she was nine, started writing songs. The family members didn't know about it until the age of 14. Aurora was not a dream of her childhood. As she says, she enjoys writing songs. According to her, music is her favorite way of feeling anything.
